Torres And The Blues
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Fernando Torres is in contention to play against Liverpool on Sunday, although the Italian has admitted he is still unsure whether the player will start the game.
Torres enjoyed cult status during his time at Liverpool and his shock move to rivals Chelsea has added extra spice to what is already a grudge match.
"It's my decision, I want to take the decision obviously, surely I will take the decision before 4pm on Sunday."
"The club had a fantastic thought to buy Fernando and David Luiz,” he said.
Torres has been the subject of much criticism this season over his performance levels but Ancelotti insists the striker is in great shape and has already impressed in his short time at the club.
Fernando Torres has revealed his cold-hearted reasoning for leaving Liverpool after stating that he did not want to wait for the club's rebuilding process having decided to quit midway through the January transfer window.
The 18-time champions of England were on the brink of administration earlier in the season before new parent company, Fenway Sports Group, took over in October and, at the same time, the club was effectively ruled out of the Premier League title race.
Liverpool fans were dealt a harsh blow when their idol made the switch to Chelsea, in what was a rather late but important deal for both clubs. Liverpool lost a world class striker while Chelsea have further strengthened their line up, and I am almost sure Ancelotti will see Torres do something special on his debut for his new club.
Chelsea seems to be finding their way and if they are on fire, Dalglish's side will have a really hard time keeping up. We can expect Liverpool's defense to be very busy, as Chelsea's mega strike force put plays together.
